
Sale Weekend Information
Below is the schedule for the weekend along with information about each day. Whether you're new to the horse sale scene or are a veteran buyer, we have you covered! If you have any questions, please contact our Sale Office at 307-302-2090.
Schedule
Please note the times are tentative.
Thursday, Aug 28
8am - 8pm : Horse Check In
Please have all paperwork including coggins, health certificates, brand inspections, and registration papers in order at the time of check in. Each stall will have two bags of shavings provided. If you will need additional shavings, please contact the sale office. Additional bags of shavings are $8 each. If you need to check in early, will need additional stalls, or will have additional horses staying through Saturday, please contact the sale office as soon as possible.
Friday, Aug 29
8am - 12pm : Late Horse Check In
If you have bathed your horses and need them renumbered, this is also the time to get that done. No horse will be allowed into the preview or the sale ring that is not numbered.

10am - 6pm : Open Arena / Preview
This is a time for you to see the horses, try the horses, and speak with consignors.

6pm - 8pm : Meet and Greet Dinner
The Meet and Greet Dinner is intended to be a less formal time for you to be able to talk with consignors, the sale company, and other buyers that are at the sale. It is free to all that would like to attend and is provided by the Miller Family.
Saturday, Aug 30
9am - 12pm : Formal Preview
The Formal Preview will be done in lot number order starting with number 1. Each horse will have 3 minutes in the arena to be showcased by the consignor. This preview will be live on our Facebook page and is open to the public to watch.

1pm : Sale Time
The sale will begin at 1pm MST. It will go in lot order starting with number 1. If you would like to watch the sale, you can tune in on CCI Live. If you purchase a horse from the sale, you must settle up with the office at the conclusion of the sale. If you will be needing the horse delivered to you, please get with the sale office to coordinate hauling with one of the haulers attending the sale.
Sunday, Aug 31st
8am - 12pm : Check-Out
All horses need to be removed from the Crooks County Fairgrounds no later than 12pm on Sunday. If you purchased a horse and are needing it to stay additional days, please inform the sale office as soon as you aware it will need to be staying so the sale company can be sure to have it cared for.

We've felt the mix of excitement and anxiety that can come with buying a new horse at a sake and we are here to make August 30th the best possible and stress-free "Gotcha Day" for you and your new purchase!

BEFORE Sale Weekend

Contact Consignors - Ask questions (be honest about your abilities and what you need), try horses the at their homes, view vet reports if available, schedule your own PPE if you would like one.

Ways To Bid
In-Person - Online via CCI Live - Phone Bidding

August 29-30 (In Person Bidders)

The Sale Office is open to the public at 10AM Friday and 9AM Saturday.

Upon arrival, head to the Sale Office. On Friday, August 29th it will be located at the concession building by the arena. On Saturday, August 30th the sale office will be located at the AG Barn next to the sale ring (large brown building with white roof next to playground).

Sign a Rider's Waiver. If you plan to ride any horses Friday or Saturday, this is required.

Head over to the barns to meet the horses of the 2025 Sundance Select Horse Sale!

Horses are available to try until 6:00pm Friday and until 9:00am Saturday (signed waiver required).

Watch the scheduled previews Friday from 10:00am-6:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am-1:00pm.

Saturday, find a seat in the stands or bring your own lawn chair to set up next to the ring. The Auction will start at 1:00PM MST.

You must be registered to bid in person by 12pm on August 30th.

If this is your first time bidding, find a staff member and let us know. We're here to help you! The process is really quite simple and will be explained clearly before the auction begins.

Online - Log onto CCI and be ready to bid.

Phone - Expect a call from a sale representative 2-3 horses before your hip number of interest.

I'm the high bidder! Now what?
-
In-Person Buyers - Head to the sale office and settle your tab. Payment by cash, personal check (please have your driver's license available) or bank wire is accepted. If you plan to pay with a credit card, please notify our staff at check in. Please be aware there is a 3% convenience fee.

Phone and Online Buyers - Expect a phone call within moments of your winning bid! Please keep your phone handy. If we are unable to make contact within a reasonable amount of time, the horse may go back up for bid.

All buyers will be asked how their horse will be traveling home. There will be several on-site haulers to assist with hauling needs. All horses must be removed by 12pm Sunday, August 31st unless other arrangements with the sale office have been made.

While in the office, consider purchasing equine insurance with Michaela Sutter - Licensed Agent for Covered By Cori. We strongly encourage all buyers to immediately insure their purchases.

Your horse will have everything he or she needs to travel home. A CVI (health papers), Coggins, and new halter are provided with every horse!

You must have a paid invoice in order to load out. Invoices will be checked at the trailer departure gate. Horses may leave Saturday night or stay in their stall until noon Sunday at no charge. It is the responsibility of the new owner to make sure the horse has food, hay and water until his departure. New owners not in attendance should be in touch with the consignor and/or sale office to arrange care.

Buyers paying by wire transfer must stable over Sunday night until transfer can be completed Monday morning.
